Tulsa Fire Department
The Tulsa Fire Safety Training Center is a 40-acre, state-of-the-art secured training facility for career and volunteer firefighters, EMS paramedics and community volunteers. Organized as a “mini-city,” the training center offers a variety of highly specialized live-fire training opportunities in a realistic urban setting that includes streets, curbs, power poles, fire hydrants, and other obstructions usually found on a typical urban street. The initial phase included a mock fire station, a six-level training tower, and outdoor classrooms. The drill tower was equipped with a variety of computer controlled, gas fired burn props and a specially designed underground drainage system was created to quickly remove water from the site to the detention pond. The site was strategically designed to accommodate changing needs and allow for additional training props as funding becomes available.
